We are a not for profit organisation formed to protect our kids by ensuring Australia’s kids entertainers are compliant with the new Principles of Child safe Organisations.
These principles came about from recommendations from the Royal Commission into Child Sexual Abuse.
It is now mandatory for anyone working with children in Australia to have the following policies and procedures in place:
-A Child safe Organisation Statement
-A Complaints handling procedure
-A Current history check in the State or Territory they are working in
-A Child protection risk management policy
-A Recruitment policy
We have developed training courses for our members so they understand their obligations and the procedures that they need to follow in order to be compliant. We have drafted the required policies and procedures, and after completing the workshops, our members are able to adopt these as their own.
We have also gone a step further by drafting an Industry Code of Conduct for our members to agree to uphold.
They also need to have at least $20,000,000 Public Liability.
The benefit to you as an event organiser or party host is that you can use a CENTA member and know that they have all the compliance and insurance taken care of. They have their act together.
