Who We Are & How We Work

The Children’s Entertainers Association Limited is an Australia wide, not for profit incorporated association. All funds generated through membership fees, sponsorship and advertising go back to the members through administration, discounts, events and grants.

Our Mission

Our mission is to protect children, event organisers and the entertainers by assisting our members to become, and to remain compliant with the latest Childsafe Organisations legislation.

Our Vision

The Children’s Entertainers Association will further the professional and personal growth of it’s members and raise the standards of the Children’s Entertainment Industry.

Statement of Commitment

The Children’s Entertainers Association is committed to the safety and well being of all children and young people. This will be the primary focus of our  work.


The Children’s Entertainers Association has zero tolerance for child abuse.


The Children’s Entertainers Association is committed to providing a child safe environment where children and young people are safe and feel safe, and their voices are heard about decisions that affect their lives. Particular attention will be paid to the cultural safety of Aboriginal children and children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds, as well as the safety of children with a disability.


Every person involved in the Children’s Entertainers Association has a responsibility to understand the important and specific role he/she plays individually and collectively to ensure that the well being and safety of all children and young people is at the forefront of all they do and every decision they make.

Our Structure

We are a Not for Profit incorporated association limited by guarantee. We have a four Directors and an Australia wide base of members.

Not for Profit

CENTA is a Not For Profit Company limited by guarantee, there are no shareholders and all profits must be used to benefit our mission and the community we serve.


The CENTA team is made up of experienced and talented people, including professional children’s entertainers.


We are the Australian Industry Association for Children's Entertainers and activity supervisors.


We are developing policies and an industry recognised code of conduct to ensure you are covered for the new legislation governing working with children. These will be drafted by Feb 2019.

Meet the Team

Dave Russell - Founder & CEO

Dave has been a kid’s entertainer since beginning his career over 25 years ago working on cruise ships in Japan. He has performed hundreds of shows at parties and corporate family days. Dave made a significant change when he became a fulltime firefighter with Fire+Rescue NSW. After 14 years as a firey, Dave has returned his attention to children’s entertainment as an ambassador for raising the professionalism and accountability of the industry.

Volkan Demir - Operations

Dr. Volkan Demir was an assistant professor / researcher in marine sciences and management for 15 years. He has a certificate in “Strengthening the interaction and engagement in education/training”. He is a multi-directional scientist and instructional developer, who has additional skills in IT systems, web design and social media. He also holds a B.Sc in Sociology.

Muge Demir - Finance & Compliance

Muge Demir is a professional experienced in healthcare industry. In her 20 years of career, she has worked for multinational healthcare companies and as a consultant taking responsibilities at different strategic positions including government affairs, market access, health economics, regulatory affairs and quality operations for pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
